b-published defines its customers as follows:

Types of Information Gathered
There are three primary types of information provided by b-published customers.
The definitions and treatments of these types are as follows:
Author contact details and manuscripts
As part of its role and stated mission of introducing unpublished authors to
literary agents and publishers, b-published will, on request, provide the author
contact details and the full manuscript for a book currently hosted by
b-published to fully accredited and registered agents or publishers. These
details will be supplied only on individual request, and in very small numbers
(ie. we will not fuel bulk mailing operations of any third parties).
Credit card details
b-published.com will never ask you directly for Credit or Payment Card details
and does not handle or store these details itself. Please do not enter Credit or
Payment Card details on any of the forms on b-published.com.
Where Card transactions are required they are carried out through a secure third
party, and as always you should look for the normal indications from your
browser of a secure connection (often a padlock symbol) before entering any such
sensitive data.
Professional Information
Data that customers provide to b-published through various methods of
communications with b-published is considered professional information and is
stored and managed for b-published internal use. Professional information
includes, but is not limited to, name, address, company name, company address,
phone number, fax number, email address, as well as questions answered on survey
or registration forms.
Data captured during a customer's visit to a b-published web site, as well as
during a visit with another b-published customer, is also considered
professional information and may also be stored for b-published internal use.
Opt-Out
b-published will accept, acknowledge and honour any customer's request to
opt-out of future communications from b-published.
